DOMS Atelier is tasked to create an extension space for a multinational plantation company in Jakarta.
The design blends cultural heritage, modern functionality, and brand identity into a cohesive workspace. Drawing inspiration from Peranakan heritage, the design incorporates intricate details such as vibrant patterns, decorative tiles, and matching furniture to create a sense of warmth and richness. These elements celebrate the company’s roots while also fostering a connection to local culture, offering employees an inspiring and culturally resonant environment. The use of Peranakan-inspired textiles, such as batik prints and geometric motifs, further enhances the aesthetic, promoting creativity and a sense of belonging.
To complement the cultural elements, the company’s signature red color is thoughtfully used as an accent throughout the space, providing visual interest and reinforcing brand identity. The layout prioritizes efficiency, with a focus on open spaces, streamlined furniture, and flexible work areas that support collaboration and productivity.
Extensive natural light is integrated into the design, flooding the workspace with daylight and enhancing the overall sense of openness and vitality. This combination of cultural depth, brand coherence, and functional design creates a balanced and dynamic environment that promotes well-being, creativity, and a strong connection to both the company’s mission and its heritage
